Motorola has announced that it will build a 10-hectare office complex for its China headquarters in Beijing, which will also house a 90-million-dollar research and development center employing up to 1,500 people.
Daniel Shih, corporate vice-president of Motorola and president of Motorola (China) Electronics Ltd., on Thursday said the project reflected the company's commitment to long-term investment in China.
Located in the Wangjing Zone, the complex would be a campus-style office zone.
With a registered capital of about US$90 million, the research and development center would also be in this zone.
