Beijing will still face a tough employment situation in 2004.

Next year, a total of 250,000 job vacancies will be available in Beijing, while there is still a shortfall of over 300,000 between working positions and labor supply.

Among the 250,000 job vacancies, business and service sectors will be the two major fields attracting staff.

Meanwhile, small and medium-sized companies will draw most of the labor supply.

A new growth point is the construction sector's demand for laborers prompted by the city's holding of the 2008 Olympic Games.
