Du Pont announced Wednesday it will invest US$2 million more into its Shanghai titanium dioxide customer service center as part of its expansion plan in China.
The 18,000-square-meter Integrated Du Pont TiO2 customer service center, which was officially opened yesterday in Songjiang District, now has a total investment of US$6 million. It offers after-sales services and technical support to its customers, as well as hosting manufacturing and warehousing facilities.
"It's aimed to provide an all-in-one service to Chinese customers from product inquiry to delivery and after-sales services," said Charles Browne, president of Du Pont China Holding Co Ltd.
"We have allocated a significant portion of our planned increased investment to further expand the scope and resource of our lab facilities here."
The titanium dioxide products are mainly used in the coating, plastics, paper and ink industries.
Du Pont will be now able to provide its customers slurry titanium dioxide pigments in solution form, which are specially de-signed for the water-based emulsion paint market.
