Northeast China's Liaoning Province witnessed rapid growth in foreign trade imports and exports in the first four months of this year, according to statistics from the Dalian customs bureau.
During the period, the aggregate value of the province's imports and exports hit US$7.68 billion, including US$4.09 billion for exports and US$3.59 billion for imports, respective year-on-year increases of 32.3, 27.2 and 38.6 percent.
The processing industry, a significant component of the province's foreign trade, also registered significant growth during the period. Its imports and exports increased US$1.67 billion and US$2.34 billion, up 26.7 percent and 35.5 percent, respectively, year-on-year.
Liaoning's exports of corn dropped to US$7.19 million, a 58.6 percent decline year-on-year.
