Southwest China's Chongqing Municipality generated a gross domestic product of 197.1 billion yuan in 2002, up 10.3 percent from 2001.
The city's gross industrial output value reached 122.8 billion yuan in 2002, a 19.8-percent increase.
During the time, its consumer goods retail volume exceeded 76.3 billion yuan, a rise of 9.1 percent.
In 2002, the per-capita disposable income of the city's urban residents came to 7,238 yuan, up 13.7 percent, while that of rural residents reached 2,098 yuan, up 6.4 percent.
The total savings deposits of the city's urban and rural residents exceeded 159.5 billion yuan, a 21-percent increase from 2001.
