The Chinese mainland companies view Hong Kong Fashion Week as an essential platform to promote their products and enable them to keep abreast with the latest international trends, said a mainland businessman who participated in the ongoing Hong Kong Fashion Week 2003 Wednesday.
Pu Hongming, vice chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Jiaxin Branch, Zhejiang, said they have been present at Hong Kong Fashion Week since 1996 and they have 38 exhibitors coming from Jiaxin City this year.
Pu said Jiaxin's manufacturers have accumulated extensive technical experience through providing manufacturing services to world-renowned fashion brands. In recent years many manufactures have succeeded in launching their own branded collections.
Pu said the Jiaxin delegation expect to return next year with abigger group and he also hopes some established brands from Jiaxincan be displayed in the Fashion Week.
The bi-annual Hong Kong Fashion Week is held from Jan. 14 to Jan. 17 with the newly launched World Boutique, Hong Kong.
