Chinese State Councilor Wu Yi said Monday that the Chinese government was focusing on quality in a series of measures to improve management during its economic construction.
Wu made the remarks in a meeting with delegates to the on-going eighth Asia-Pacific Quality Organization Conference.
Wu said the Chinese government also helped enterprises to improve quality and reduce costs in the competitive market to provide satisfactory products and services for consumers.
Wu admitted that there was still a wide gap in terms of product quality and management between China and developed countries. Efforts had been made to help China catch up with world-standard quality levels in the shortest possible time.
She said the new ideas and methods discussed in the conference were conducive to quality improvement and economic development in China.
