China-Singapore Information Cooperation Closer
The Consulate General of Singapore in Shanghai has announced plans by the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDAS) to establish an Infocomm Section here to expand China-Singapore cooperation on the information industry.

Consul General Ong Lu King said, "China and Singapore enjoy a positive bilateral relationship and have lots of cooperation opportunities in the development of information industries."

The section, the first overseas branch office in China set up by the IDAS, will help Chinese information enterprises to establish strategic partnerships with their counterparts in Singapore and organize regular symposiums for both sides to share their experiences and latest technical achievements.

A governmental organization, the IDAS has worked out a package of rules either to encourage foreign enterprises to enter its own market or to facilitate domestic info-communication companies to start up cooperation with foreign counterparts.

Given the fast digitalization speed and convenient traffic network in Shanghai, Singapore businessmen believe that Shanghai has a huge development potential and such cooperation would profit both sides.
