China Vows to Enhance Cooperation with OPEC

Chinese Vice Premier Zeng Peiyan said Thursday that China will increase dialogue with the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) in order to contribute to the stability of the world oil market.

In a meeting with OPEC President and Kuwaiti Oil Minister Ahmed Fahd al Sabah, Zeng said China has maintained good relations with the OPEC members and will increase communication and dialogue with the important oil producer union.

As a big oil and gas consumer, China is ready to cooperate with oil-rich Kuwait on oil exploitation and development, oil refining, petrochemical engineering and oil trading, Zeng said.

Zeng hoped China and Kuwait could deepen energy cooperation to achieve a mutually beneficial, win-win outcome. The two countries have established good cooperation in the political, economic, cultural and sports fields, said Zeng.
