Suzuki Motor Corp. said Friday a joint venture in the Chinese province of Jiangxi will bolster its annual automobile production capacity to 160,000 units from the current 100,000.
The venture, Jiangxi Changhe Suzuki Automobile Co., has been manufacturing automobiles in the city of Jingdezhen. It was set up by Suzuki and its Chinese partner, Changhe Aircraft Industry Co.
The venture will increase production through the purchase of an automobile assembly plant belonging to the group of companies led by the aircraft company, Suzuki Motor said. The purchase will be made by the end of December.
