Seven more companies have been licensed to produce mobile phones in China.
This is the fourth batch of licenses issued after China lowered the threshold to enter the mobile phone industry. The State Development and Reform Commission announced Sunday Langchao LG Digital Mobile, Malata Group, Changhong Electric, Amoi and 3 other companies have just won mobile production licenses.
These seven companies were previously focused on producing computers, home appliances and other digital products. However, the country's top reform body warned against investment risks in the sector, as the market has been saturated and the current production capacity exceeds demand.
