China's first trade fair featuring articles made of bamboo is scheduled for June 8-10 in Shaxian County, in east China's Fujian Province.
Over 500 producers and dealers in bamboo products from Europe, Southeast Asia, Japan and other countries and regions are expected to attend the trade fair.
The delegations from Kenya, Venezuela and Bangladesh will be headed by their ambassadors to China.
The 700 or so products to be exhibited during the fair will include handicrafts, articles of everyday use and construction materials.
Fujian, the largest bamboo producer in China with 800,000 ha of land devoted to commercial bamboo groves, produced bamboo products worth of 4.6 billion yuan (about US$560 million) of last year.
