China's ZTE Corporation has pledged to provide mobile data services to Nepal Telecom, a press release of ZTE said Tuesday.
According to the release, ZTE, one of the largest listed telecommunications manufacturer and leading wireless solutions provider in China, will provide, for the first time, 10,000 lines of GPRS data services, offering customers continuous high-speed wireless connection to the Internet.
Under the contract, ZTE, now the largest telecommunications equipment supplier for Nepal, will also supply 1 million lines of GSM equipment to build a state-of-the-art network able to cover the Kathmandu Valley following the dismantling and relocation of all the existing base transreceiver stations in the valley, the release said.
