Mobile Phone Users Send 11 Bln Texts

Chinese mobile phone users sent 11 billion text messages during the week-long spring festival holiday.

The latest figures show that revenue generated by text message sending during the holiday totaled over 1.1 billion yuan or 134 million US dollars.

More and more Chinese are choosing to send greetings to their relatives and friends by text message because communication is instant and cheap.

China now has more than 330 million mobile phone users.
