The battle of the brands in China's luxury car market is set to intensify with the entry of General Motors' Cadillac, which aggressively trumpets its motto, "Dare to be the First."
Cadillac claims that the luxury car industry, as led by top trio "BBC", Benz, BMW and Cadillac, has now arrived in China.
It is a statement which appears to belittle other brands such as Audi and Volvo.
Cadillac will start to import its 3.6-litre V6 CTS models into China later this month.
The CTS, which will retail at 518,000 yuan, and the Cadillac SRX sports utility, will be assembled at GM's joint venture in Shanghai at the end of this year with imported kits, making them the first Cadillacs ever to be produced outside of the United States.
Cadillac will also export its XLR convertible to China at the beginning of next year.
