Ningbo Bird Co., Ltd., a leading Chinese mobile phone maker, is recruiting talent worldwide to support its global expansion strategy.
A growing number of Chinese businesses are looking to the world to recruit talents. Earlier, four large Chinese state-owned enterprises put ads on the website of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council to recruit senior executives from around the world.
The Bird Co., based in Ningbo city of east China's Zhejiang province, recently revealed its search for senior personnel in research and development, marketing and management through a name-brand recruitment program on China Central Television.
Yuan Jianghong, Bird's manager of human resources, predicted that the company would export 2 million mobile phones to over 30 countries this year, and that the number will increase by a large margin in the coming years. Bird urgently needs to establish a team of specialists with international vision and overseas work experience to meet the fast business expansion, Yuan said.
According to Yuan, locals will fill 50 to 60 percent of positions in its overseas branches. The rest will be internationals familiar with both domestic and overseas markets.
Analysts here said that to compete on the international market, one of the primary tasks of Chinese firms is to grasp advanced management skills and establish a team of local talents.
