Netease, one of China's biggest Internet portals, has begun using search services provided by US market leader Google.
And the two companies are cooperating in online advertising under a new strategic partnership. Under the partnership, Google will provide web-page searches, one of the most heavily used services offered by Netease.
The deal will also give Google space on its search results page for its "pay-per-click" advertisements and would share in any revenues generated. It also marks a further move by Google into China's rapidly expanding Internet market. The US company recently began marketing Chinese language advertising services and last month took a stake in Beijing-based search rival Baidu.com.
