China has exported over 50 million cell phones, worth US$4.9 billion, in the first five months of this year, doubling the figure for the same period last year. 

Statistics show most of the exported cell phones are from joint venture companies. Domestic brand phones sales had a limited increase.

China exported 95 million cell phones last year, worth US$11.5 billion, and has become the biggest cell phone exporter in the world.
