A member of the Chinese delegation to the on-going six-party talks confirmed that the delegations of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) and the United States contacted in Beijing Wednesday.
Speaking at a press briefing, Liu Jianchao, also deputy director-general of the Information Department of Foreign Ministry, gave no details of the contact.
Liu said all the delegations considered dialogue the best way to resolve the nuclear issue on the Korean Peninsula, and expected the six-party talks to continue.
The parties concerned held consultations on how to continue the talks, he said.
