A Japanese man was arrested Friday for smearing the building housing the Chinese consulate in Nagoya.
The man was stopped by guard on the first floor at about 11:15 AM when he attempted to go upstairs to the fourth floor where the consulate is located, according to the Chinese consulate.
The man, then, opened a fire extinguisher and started spraying.
He was identified as 24-year-old Yoichi Mishina and claimed himself as a member of a right-wing group, Kyodo News quoted local police as saying.
There were several rightist vehicles outside the property when the incident happened, the consulate said. No staff of the consulate was injured.
