A bus collided with a car on an expressway in east China's Jiangsu Province Saturday, killing 15 people so far, the local source said.

The accident occurred on the expressway connecting Nanjing, Jiangsu's capital city, with Hefei, capital of neighboring Anhui Province. The bus, carrying 48 people, overturned after running into the rear of the car.

Fourteen people were killed immediately and another one died in hospital, the source said.

The injured are being treated in hospital and senior officials of Jiangsu Province have urged all-out treatment for them and full investigation into the accident.
