James Soong, chairman of Taiwan's People First Party (PFP), will visit the mainland from May 5 to 12, Xinhua News Agency reported official sources as confirming yesterday.
Under an arrangement made by the Taiwan Work Office (TWO) of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and the PFP, Soong is expected to visit Xi'an, Nanjing, Shanghai, Changsha and Beijing.
On April 24, Chen Yunlin, director of the TWO, met with Chin Chin-sheng, secretary general of the PFP, and exchanged views on the relationship between the two parties and the arrangements for Soong's mainland tour.
