Top Civil Servants Voted In
Wen Jiabao was appointed premier of State Council, China’s cabinet, today at the sixth plenary meeting of the First Session of 10th NPC, following nomination by the president.

A total of 2,940 deputies to the National People's Congress (NPC), China's top legislature, attended the meeting. They also voted upon all other members of the Central Military Commission of the People’s Republic of China following nomination by the chairman of the Central Military Commission.

Vice chairpersons of the Central Military Commission: Hu Jintao, Guo Boxiong, Cao Gangchuan.

Members of the Central Military Commission: Xu Caihou, Liang Guanglie, Liao Xilong, Li Jinai.

At the same meeting, Xiao Yang was voted in as president of the Supreme People’s Court, and Jia Chunwang, former public security minister, was elected procurator-general of the Supreme People's Procuratorate.
