A spokesman for the Beijing Municipal Foreign Economic & Trade Commission said Friday that multinationals have set up 24 regional headquarters in Beijing, the most recent opened by the US-based Motorola company.
Tim Chen, president of the Motorola (China) Electronic Co. Ltd., said that the establishment of Motorola's north Asian headquarters in Beijing will raise the firm's cooperation with the Chinese government to a new level.
Over the next five years, Motorola will further improve its global service system by building a production base in Tianjin Municipality, north China, and a research and development center in Beijing. By then, China will have become Motorola's second largest market.
Mike Zafirovski, president and chief operating officer of Motorola, voiced his confidence in the Chinese market during his visit to the country in May, saying that Motorola will adhere to its win-win strategy in China and will continue to invest in the country.
