China's foreign trade authorities suggested Chinese companies suspend plans to send workers to Israel after a suicide bombing in Jerusalem, which killed two Chinese workers and injured another two last Friday.
An official with the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation expressed sympathy and condolences for the workers and their families on Tuesday while voicing the ministry's concerns over safety in Israel.
"Under the current circumstances, we suggest companies that have signed contracts to send laborers to Israel should suspend the plans," the official said.
The official asked all Chinese companies which are carrying out construction projects overseas and their employees to pay attention to safety, and to be well prepared for unexpected incidents.
