Madame Tussauds Hong Kong unveiled Wednesday a new cheongsam for Teresa Teng's wax figure in celebration of the music star's distinguished life and career as the 14th anniversary of her passing draws near.

Teresa's brother Chang-fu Teng, who was invited to unveil the new costume, posed beside the wax figure together with two models dressed in Teresa's signature style for reporters and fans to capture.

Teresa's wax likeness is dressed in a white sequin cheongsam with pink butterflies, which accentuates the singer's delicate features and bright smile.

"The cheongsam that Teresa's wax figure now wears is a replica of one of her favorite gowns, which she wore during her 1977 concert tour of Japan," Teng said.

The backdrop of the wax figure was also changed to mimic Teresa 's NHK "One and Only" 1985 concert in Japan.

Teng said with deep affection that Teresa loved the stage and most importantly she loved her fans. "Teresa will continue to dazzle her fans from all around the world through this spectacular costume," he added.

Bret Pidgeon, general manager of Madame Tussauds Hong Kong and Shanghai, said that since 2001, thousands of admirers have paid tribute to Teresa here and "they will enjoy her new-look for sure. "
