The Malaga-born flamenco dancer Paco Mora wowed Beijing with a full-length show, Blood Wedding, at Poly Theater last December. One year later, the Spaniard returns with a gala entitled Malaga Flamenco Passion, with three shows at the same venue.
Directed and choreographed by Mora, the show features a variety of flamenco styles and takes audiences back to the development of the dance genre. Mora, 17 of his dancers from Ballet Flamenco Espanol, a singer and band, will demonstrate their skills.
The 35-year-old Mora began to stand out as a professional flamenco dancer after creating the company La Jabera, which was first introduced at Madrid's 7th Spanish Dance and Flamenco Choreography Contest in 1998.
Soon after, he performed in his own shows, including Lorca baila, Carmen de Bizet, Flamencuras, Othello and Salome.
Last year, he re-choreographed the famous flamenco dance Blood Wedding and gave a successful and groundbreaking new adaptation in Madrid.
Mora's dancing has also been seen at the cinema, such as in the Carlos Saura film Salome (2002), in which Mora performs Herod.
In addition to choreographing and dancing, Mora also teaches flamenco, both in Spain and other countries, to promote the flamenco culture throughout the world.
