Lindsay Lohan's award axe
Adjust font size:

Lindsay Lohan has been axed as the host of the World Music Awards 2008.

The 'Mean Girls' star has been replaced by actress Denise Richards after organisers lost confidence in Lindsay's ability to present the Monaco event next week.

Lindsay - who is reportedly engaged to her girlfriend Samantha Ronson - was said to have reacted badly when organisers booked 'Desperate Housewives' star Jesse Metcalfe to co-host the ceremony.

A source said: "Lindsay was furious she wasn't the main star. The organisers had gone through a list of who was hot at the moment and returned to Lindsay again.

"But the feedback they got was really negative. They got worried and decided to change it.

"In the end it was decided by both parties it was better if she pulled out."

Rumours are now rife that Jesse has also been dropped from the prestigious event.

At the 2006 awards, Lindsay, 22, messed up several of her lines and accidentally called Beyonce to the stage while she was still getting ready for her performance.
