The stage drama "Watching TV with Me," directed by Asia's top theater director Stan Lai, made its global debut in Shenzhen Theater on Thursday, sina.com reported.
The drama lasts three hours and features the story of three couples and a migrant worker in Shenzhen, in order to present the development of TV and China over the past 30 years.
Since its theme is closely related to the development of television, it's jointly performed by a number of popular screen stars including Cheng Qian, Cecilia Yip, Fang Fang, Liu Yunlong, Shi Ke and Yang Ruoxi.
"We really looked forward to staging the drama when we were informed that Stan Lai would direct it," renowned female director Hu Mei said. "I believe this stage drama will combine entertainment and arts in a way that will help audiences recognize the power of television."
This drama will be staged in the Hua Hui Times Theater in the newly built China Central Television building in Beijing, which is the only studio open to the public, from December 23, 2008 to January 3, 2009.
