Acclaimed avant-garde director Meng Jinghui's symbolistic drama Two Dogs hit its hundredth performance at the Oriental Pioneer Theatre in Beijing on Sunday evening.

The audience was greatly surprised when director Meng Jinghui and actor Chen Minghao, who played the older dog at the premiere, turned up as guest actors.
The director and actors were later awarded red flowers and certificates praising their contributions.
The drama focuses on two dogs' feelings and opinions on mankind's way of life. The two actors alternate roles as men and dogs.
The drama premiered in May last year and hit its hundredth national performance on the last day of 2007 at the Oriental Pioneer Theatre.
Web site sina.com.cn reported that this is the first drama shown one hundred times at the theater.
