Musical dreams come true
Adjust font size:

Hairspray, a musical about an ordinary girl chasing her dream, will not only wow Shanghai audiences this summer, but help make the dreams of children caught up in the Sichuan earthquake come true.

"Realize dream love action" is a project launched by Shanghai Grand Theater, Love Radio FM103.7 and Sohu Entertainment and taking part will be artists including dancer Huang Doudou and baritone Liao Changyong, as well as the cast of "Hairspray."

Six Sichuan children from nine to 16 now living in Shanghai will be the first to tell of their dreams and have them come true. "I like dancing, especially folk dances. I hope that I can keep learning dancing here in Shanghai," said 9-year-old Zhao Sihan.

Huang Doudou is to teach her dance. Liao Changyong has promised to sing for 14-year-old Chen Haoyu who is a great fan of his.

The six children will attend the Hairspray premiere at the Grand Theater on July 5.
