A play about dinosaurs began its five days of performances for young children at the National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijing on Wednesday evening.
The drama, "You Look Delicious", tells a story that took place during the Cretaceous period, when an evil tyrannosaurus rex met a newborn dinosaur. He first wanted to eat the smaller one, but finally found he was very happy to be the father of his "food" and almost lost his life in order to protect the baby dinosaur.
Various dinosaurs appeared on the stage, including pterosaur with wings, diplodocus with long neck and so on. Each has unique appearance, movements, and gestures to grab the attention of the little ones in the audience.
The play was adapted from Japanese famous illustrator Miyanishi Tatsuya's work. Tatsuya even paid a visit to the theater for the rehearsals at the beginning of May.
"You Look Delicious" will be on stage until June 1, the International Children's Day.
For the first time, young audience under 10 years old can walk into the National Center for the Performing Arts. The Beijing International Children's Theatre Festival, opening on May 15, offers the audience six shows from all over the world.
