Celebrities should give a second thought before they set off to the quake-stricken Sichuan province, appealed Jacky Cheung, the Hong Kong singer and actor.
"Frequent celebrity visits may add extra burden to the disaster-hit areas where people's lives have not settled down yet." Jacky Cheung suggested.
Stars from Hong Kong, Taiwan and the mainland have expressed their wish to go to the quake-hit areas to help, news from China News Service said. Veteran singer and actor Andy Lau is reported to plan to go to Sichuan on May 28, together with several other stars including Joey Yung and Sammi Cheung.
"The deadly earthquake has left many small children as orphans. I will do whatever in my capability to help them, and I believe they will grow up with extraordinary strength after the adversity." Jacky Cheung said.
The star has been participating in many charity events in benefit of the quake, the Hong Kong based Ming Pao News said. Jacky Cheung has been seen in many occasions dressed in black and wearing a black wristlet in memory of the quake victims.
