Shanxi paper-cutting artist Guo Meihua shows her designs on Thursday, November 22, 2007.

Guo Meihua, a veteran paper-cutting artist from northern China's Shanxi Province, has decided to dedicate herself to designing Chinese Olympic Champion-themed paper-cuts.

The Xinhua News Agency reported that Guo's design for the paper-cuts features 100 different Chinese Olympic champions over the last 20 years.

From China's first Olympic champion, Xu Haifeng, to the most recent Olympic star, Liu Xiang, Guo has used the animal signs the champions were born under in four paper-cut designs for each champion.

She has finished four out of the 100 sets of paper-cuts so far. She wants to use this traditional Chinese art style to make her contribution to the 2008 Olympics.

Guo hopes to send her paper-cuts to the 100 champions and the Organizing Committee for the Beijing Olympics after she has finished them.
