China's Ministry of Health says the large scale emergency medical work in quake-hit areas has ended. Their focus is now on disease prevention.
The Ministry's spokesman said over 10,000 healthcare providers have been dispatched to the quake hit areas. Survivors who were slightly injured have been receiving good care in Sichuan and the 10,000 others seriously hurt have been transported to other provinces.
So far, epidemic prevention and surveillance work have been carried out all over the quake affected area. But the spokesman says there is still a possibility of an epidemic outbreak.
The ministry has told local authorities to provide daily reports on the situation and has instructed healthcare workers to stay alert for any symptoms of disease.
