Xuan Jie, head of Shifang Tent Kindergarten, said, "We have separate tents for living, for study and for storage. In total we have six tents here. The playground is about 1000 square meters and we have 12 teachers."

The kindergarten is expected to accommodate 200 children. Nearly 100 are already registered, with over half coming from remote mountain areas severely affected by the quake. Parents are very much relieved.

This temporary kindergarten was donated by two kindergartens in China's north-east coastal city of Dalian. The funds were donated by children and their parents, who hope these children who have lost their homes will also have a happy Children's Day. But more importantly, they want to help them have a new beginning.
