Shortly after the earthquake, Dong Fang Electrical Machinery carried out a thorough safety check of factory buildings and equipment. With no risk found that could endanger their workers, employees returned to their positions.

Hou Wei, Vice Director, Water-turbine engine factory, DFEM, said, "This runner can leave the factory by the deadline of June 2nd. And we can ensure that the quality will meet requirements."

Meanwhile, other workers are working on the core portion of a 1-million-kilowatt generator for a nuclear power station.

Han Zhiqiao, GM, Dong Fang Electrical Machinery, said, "We'll try our best to bring production levels back to pre-quake levels by May 25th to minimize losses."

Meanwhile, other manufacturers in Deyang say they're also working hard to rebuild businesses and cut losses to the regional economy.
