Mianyang's Jiuzhou Gymnasium is the biggest temporary shelter for survivors, with around 20,000 people living there. Workers have carried out disease prevention work, and so far they've managed to prevent epidemics from occurring.

In Jiuzhou Gymnasium, anyone with a fever or diarrhea is registered here, and blood samples are tested for disease.

Staff of Mianyang Disease Control Center said, "We'll take immediate measures to prevent massive outbreaks of diseases once the samples are tested positive. So far we haven't found any such symptoms."

In addition to disease control, the sanitation and disease prevention workers are disinfecting the inside and outside of the Gymnasium, as well as surrounding streets twice a day, especially garbage and toilets. Over 130 sanitation workers on the job every day to guarantee the hygiene of the settlement.

A sanitation worker said, "We make sure that garbage is cleared away immediately. We have over 100 dustbins inside the gym and we'll disinfect all of them and send off the garbage to be disposed."

Food and drinking water is handed out after sterilization. Boiled water is also provided in the settlement from 5am until 11pm. There has been no disease outbreak so far in Jiuzhou Gymnasium and people are living a relatively stable life here.
