Roads to areas worst hit by Monday's earthquake in southwest China's Sichuan Province had all resumed traffic after days of repair, the provincial disaster relief headquarters said Saturday night.
The highways to Wenchuan, Beichuan, Qingchuan, Pingwu, Lixian and Maoxian, all worst-hit counties in Sichuan, all reopened to traffic, the headquarters said.
Previously, rescuers had to be airdropped or trek to some of the areas to carry out rescue operations. Relief goods had to be airdropped.
A 7.8 magnitude earthquake jolted Wenchuan County in Sichuan on Monday afternoon. In Sichuan alone, more than 28,300 died and at least 10,600 people remain buried.
