Rescuers have brought under control an ammonia gas leak in a meat processing factory in the quake-hit areas of southwest China's Sichuan Province, according to local sources.
Cracks appeared on pipelines in the factory's cold store in Qingchuan County, Guangyuan City at around 6:00 p.m. Saturday as an aftermath of Monday's 7.8-magnitude earthquake and aftershocks.
The leak was soon brougt under control and no injury was found in the accident, officials said.
More than 30 firemen rushed to the factory, located in the southern part of the county seat and prompt emergency measures were taken to cope with the accident.
Staff from local environmental protection bureau and public security department also helped with settling the emergency.
