A German tourist was Saturday pulled out of the wreckage of a house alive by Chinese soldiers in Wenchuan county at the epicenter, 114 hours after the deadly earthquake.
His first name was pronounced as "Bergdahl", according to a Xinhua reporter at the site.
But Press Attache of the German Embassy in Beijing refused to give full name of the man citing policies. Earlier another official with the embassy said that there was indeed a man on the missing tourist list whose name sounds similarly.
More than 20 soldiers pulled out the tourist out of debris in Taoguan village of Wenchuan county, south to the county seat and about one and a half hour's drive away, at about 8:10 a.m. Saturday
He has been rushed to the medical center of Wenchuan disaster relief headquarters.
His health condition is unknown yet. If his injury is serious, the tourist will be sent to hospitals in Chengdu, Sichuan's capital.
