The Confucius-Mencius Culture Painting Exhibition was held in Shandong Museum in Jinan on Nov. 17-19, displaying nearly 300 calligraphic works and paintings from the Chinese mainland and Taiwan artists.

"In recent years, business cooperation has become more and more active between the Chinese mainland and Taiwan, attracting a large amount of Taiwan enterprises to invest in Shandong. This exhibition shows the quintessence of Chinese traditional culture," Li Jia, the Vice Chairman of the CPPCC of Shandong Province said at the opening ceremony.

Around 60 of the exhibited works are from Taiwan, Li said.

Li Maoqi, a well-known wash painting master from Taiwan, said that artists in the Chinese mainland and Taiwan have the responsibility to protect the spiritual treasure of China.

The exhibition was co-organized by Confucius Research Institute and Shandong Association for the Promotion of Chinese Culture. The exhibition also has planed to open in Beijing and Taipei.
