The Tibetan people and Buddhist followers converged in the Sera Monastery in Lhasa on Saturday, to celebrate the traditional Sera Bengqin Festival, which falls on Dec. 27 of the Tibetan calendar each year. During the celebration, worshipers were touched on the head by the Vajra Pestle, a sacred instrument in Buddhism, as they believe it would bring good fortune and ward off disasters.
