Wu Chuanjiang allegedly shot dead Li Minghang, an ex-drug dealer and loan shark, about 2am on June 3 at a residential community in Chongqing Municipality, Cqnews.net, Chongqing's news Web portal, reported yesterday.
Wu then fled, allegedly with two men called Zhang Mengjun and Fu Shipei. Wu took the gun to pieces and threw the parts into a reservoir in Chongqing's Wanzhou District, police said.
Police retrieved the parts of the pistol as well as six bullets on Saturday afternoon and seized a batch of other weapons from one of Zhang's relatives, including two automatic rifles, a shotgun, a German pistol, a grenade and hundreds of bullets.

The three suspects in the murder allegedly told police that Li had stolen 60,000 yuan (US$8,775) of drug money from Wu.
Li, 44, was reported to have been in the drug trade since 2000. He even went abroad to learn how to manufacture new type drugs in 2004 and used the drug money for his money-lending business, police said.
Wu saw Li driving around Chongqing last autumn and followed him with Zhang and Fu.
They found out where he lived, then purchased firearms and ammunition to kill him, police said.
