The victims were an elderly deaf-mute couple living on the first floor, rescuers said.
The landslide happened Saturday afternoon in the Jiuzhou development district of Gansu's capital Lanzhou, when about 20,000 cubic meters of soil collapsed on part of the building.
More than 30 households were affected. Eight people were buried. One person were saved and rescuers had earlier pulled out five bodies, including three women, one man and an eight-month-old baby boy.
More than 500 armed police and firefighters were involved in the search.
Several other cracks of about 20 to 30 centimeters long were spotted on the hill and rescuers said another landslide is possible.
