Tainted liquor kills 4 in Hubei
Adjust font size:

Problematic liquor in central China's Hubei Province had new victims, with one more died Tuesday night, bringing the death toll from three to four, local police said Wednesday.

Meanwhile, more than 10 others have been hospitalized as of Wednesday morning, up from five Tuesday.

These people drank bulk Baijiu, a grain alcohol, Monday and Tuesday in Wufeng County. Preliminary tests showed the alcohol they drank contained a larger than normal amount of methanol.

The county government has issued a notice telling local residents not to drink bulk Baijiu and launched an investigation into the case.
