Adjust font size:

Six people died and three were injured after they hit a vehicle height limit bar above a road early Thursday in east China's Shandong Province.

The accident occurred at around 9:20 a.m. on the Lizhuang section of Yihe Road in Tancheng County, when 15 members of a road sweeping team were riding in a three-wheeled motorized farming vehicle, the county police said.

Some of the sweepers were standing in the vehicle's trailer and struck the bar above the road.

Driver Li Zhenshan has been detained by police.
