The 10 winners of the "Olympic Families Tour Beijing" competition were named yesterday after two months of blogs and presentations.

The official website of the 2008 Beijing Games named five Chinese and five foreign families as the best of the 100 short-listed competitors in the Olympic-themed blog writing contest.

The Chinese winners were: Homenice, Love for Olympics, Angel's family, Harmonious team and A family of five watching the Games.Their foreign counterparts are: BOCHAMDQ (Argentina), go Hong Kong (South Africa), Greenlink (Germany), and gotobeijing and usa1776 (both the United States).

The online competition, which began on April 9, attracted 12,363 Chinese families and 316 foreign entrants.

Based on their multimedia introductions, 100 families were chosen to proceed to the blog-writing competition stage. The public was then invited to vote for their favorite families, either online or via mobile phone. The 10 families will gather in Beijing by August 8 to take part in the one-year countdown celebration. They will tour the Olympic venues and watch some Olympic test events in Beijing, Qingdao and Hong Kong.
