The National Defense University (NDU) engaged 40 trainees from
the Armed Police Force (APF) in a problem operation exercise in its
teaching building on Jan. 2, during which the trainees coped with
various "emergencies" calm and unhurried, and pulled it off
successfully.
Upon the approvals of the State Council, the Central Military
Commission and the general headquarters/departments of the PLA, the
National Defense University started to carry out systematic
training for the commanders at the ranks of corps and division from
the active units of the Armed Police Force and the Public Security.
To do that, it offered eight required courses including political
work in the army, joint operation, duties of the Armed Police
Force, emergency handling study and anti-terrorism operation
research in accordance with their operational tasks and
requirements. The strategic and campaign problem operation
exercises such as stability maintenance and emergency handling have
contributed effectively to the uplifting of the command capability
of these senior and middle rank commanders.
It is learned that 200-odd senior and middle rank commanders of
the Armed Police Force have received trainings in the National
Defense University so far and they have become the "leading geese",
so to speak, in the IT-based development of the Armed Police
Force.
