An exhibition showcasing valuable equipments used in China's Shenzhou VII spacewalk mission was opened in Macao on Friday.
Entitled "Roaming the Universe--Aerospace Exhibition for China' s First Space Walk", the exhibition displayed the re-entry module of Shenzhou VII spacecraft, the Chinese-developed Feitian (flying) spacesuit, the CZ-2F carrier rocket model and 120 pieces of photos.
Three Chinese astronauts Zhai Zhigang, Liu Boming and Jing Haipeng successfully accomplished China's first spacewalk mission on September 27, with Zhai actually conducting the spacewalk. Earlier this month, the Shenzhou VII manned space mission delegation, including the three astronauts, paid a three-day visit to Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR).
Yang Liwei, the nation's first ever astronaut, participated in the opening ceremony of the exhibition. He thanked the people of Macao for their support to the nation's aerospace program.
Yang and other officials of China's space program arrived in Macao yesterday for a three-day visit. The exhibition will remain open to the public until Dec. 23.
